SALES,LOGS/FIREWOOD/MULCHES
Logs:
Burning seasoned logs for fuel is efficient and economic, and one of the most cost-effective and environmentally-friendly methods of heating due to its neutral carbon properties.
Seasoning of logs takes a minimum of one full year in a covered storage area benefitting from good dry air circulation.
Care should be taken when purchasing logs to ensure that they have been seasoned for at least this length of time, and are all ‘hardwood’ rather than the ‘Conifer/Pine softwoods’ often mixed in by some suppliers purely to increase profits.
We only supply thoroughly seasoned hardwood logs, as the use of ‘Conifer/Pine’ for firewood can cause resin to build up in chimneys and, without regular cleaning, this can often cause chimney fires.
Woodchip Mulch:
There are many reasons for the popularity of woodchip mulch: weed prevention, water retention, soil erosion issues, root insulation in freezing conditions, aesthetic, and uniformity of bed colour. Plus, as an added bonus, slugs/snails do not like it.
A fast, efficient and economic way to tidy borders, leaving a uniform dressed appearance, reducing aftercare and adding humus to the soil as the chips breaks down.
We provide mature woodchip mulch in quantities per cubic metre at any time of the year within our working area.
Bark Nugget Mulch:
Pine bark nugget mulch is uniform and dark brown in colour with a distinctive pine scent. Pine bark nuggets are a great landscaping mulch because it's durable, attractive, inexpensive, and smells good all year long. One key benefit to pine bark nuggets is that they break down more slowly than inferior mulches. Pine bark also inhibits weed growth so the use of chemical weed killers is not needed as frequently. It has the same other qualities as the woodchip mulches above.
We can supply in cubic metres or in 80lt bags for easy handling.
